Net Zero Commitment Statement

Dr Frost Learning is a CIO registered in England and Wales, delivering an online mathematics platform to schools across the UK and internationally. This statement sets out our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving net zero by 2050.

Our Commitment

Dr Frost Learning is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions over time and to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, in line with the UK government's net zero target. The Board of Trustees has approved this commitment and considers environmental sustainability an integral part of responsible governance.

Our Approach

We will work towards this commitment through:

  • Ongoing investment in energy-efficient infrastructure and database optimisation to reduce operational energy consumption
  • Monitoring and reporting of carbon emissions using the GHG Protocol framework, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, with Scope 3 indirect emissions informed by Google's published environmental disclosures
  • Proportionate use of classical machine learning approaches rather than processor- intensive large language model inference, significantly reducing the computational, energy, and water demands of our AI-enabled services

Monitoring and Review

We monitor our carbon emissions regularly using Google Cloud Platform's sustainability reporting tools. We will review our approach to emissions reduction on a regular basis and report on progress as part of our annual trustees' report. Our monitoring and reporting aligns with the National Procurement Policy Statement and the Social Value Model.
